FRAMINGHAM – District 3 resident Sheryl Goldstein is the new chair of the Framingham Disability Commission.

Goldstein, who was elected chair tonight, replaces District 2 School Committee member Ricky Finlay, who chose not to seek re-election as chair.

Tyler Terrasi was elected vice chair tonight, July 28.

The 7-member Commission is still recovering from the death of its co-founder and long-time chair Karen Foran Dempsey, who died suddenly in December 2020, and who was a transformative leader of the Commission

Finlay told SOURCE it was time for the new blood on the Commission to take the leadership, and steer a bold, new direction for the Commission.

The Disability Commission is comprised of a majority of people with various disabilities. The Commission works with City officials, in particular, the ADA Coordinator and the Access Compliance Inspector, to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life.
