FRAMINGHAM – Irene E. (Wlodyka) Westerkamp, 87, of Palm Desert, CA, formerly of Framingham, died on November 8, 2020 after a brief illness.
Daughter of the late Waclaw & Julia Wlodyka, and the devoted wife of John Westerkamp,
Irene was raised in the Saxonville section of Framingham, graduating in the public school system and the valedictorian for the class of ’51.
After graduation she was briefly employed at General Motors, and later became the office manager at New England Sand and Gravel.
Besides her husband John, Irene is survived by her sons, Jack of CA, and James of HI, her sister, Jessie Bielski, brother Edmund Wlodyka, of Framingham, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Foss, and her brothers, John and Ted Wlodyka.
Family and friends will honor and remember Irene’s life by gathering for visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, July 26 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
A prayer service will follow in the funeral home at 11:45 a.m.
Interment in St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.
