FRAMINGHAM – Sister Rose Joseph Murphy, CSJ, in her 62nd year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Saturday, July 17, 2021. 

Devoted daughter of the late Peter H. and Mary A. (Devaney) Murphy, and beloved sister of the late Peter F., Mary, Joseph, John P., and Rose M. Murphy.  Sister Rose Joseph is survived by her loving sister, Theresa Denton, and brothers Edward T., Thomas J. and Michael Murphy, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her Sisters in the Congregation. 

Formerly missioned as a teacher at Sacred Heart School, Roslindale; St. Brendan School, Dorchester; vice-principal and teacher at St. Catherine School, Norwood; and administrator at St. Theresa School, West Roxbury. 

Sister Rose Joseph also ministered as a supervisor at Bethany Health Hospital in Framingham.

Visiting hours at St. Thomas Chapel, St. Joseph Hall, 93 Bethany Road, Framingham, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 9:15 to 10 a.m.

Prayer Service at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at 10:15 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 57 Wellesley Avenue, Needham.

Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, Framingham.
