FRAMINGHAM – These two dogs were found abandoned in crates at Brophy Elementary School this morning, June 29, in Framingham.

“One of the dogs appears to be a Shiba Inu type mix and the other appears to be a Pomeranian type mix,” said Police.

“Abandoning an animal is NEVER an option. Not only is it cruel, it is illegal in Massachusetts,” said Framingham Police.

Animal control picked up the dogs, said Sgt. Rachel Mickens

The temperatures today were in the 90s again, and the heat index was more than 100 degrees.

The dogs “were hot but in good shape,” said Sgt. Mickens.

“We are grateful to the Good Samaritans that reported the discovery of the dogs. The dogs are resting comfortably in the care of Animal Control,” said Police on social media. “If anyone has any information about these dogs please call Framingham Animal Control at 508-532-5870.”

“If you are unable to properly care for an animal, contact your local animal control or reach out to an organization like ARL of Boston or the MSPCA, there are always resources available,” said Framingham Police on Twitter.
