FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham teen was arrested Saturday afternoon after a high-speed chase and crash.
Arrested at 1:29 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, following a crash, was was Ranulfo Lopes, 18, of 385 Franklin Street of Framingham.
Officer Matthew Mangano attempted to stop a Lopes for operating a motor vehicle without a license and red light violation at Franklin and Mt. Wayte intersection, according to the Framingham Police spokesperson.
“Lopes took off at high rate of speed,” said Framingham Police Sgt. Rachel Mickens. It was estimated he was going at 75 miles per hour, she said.

“He went through another stop light at Union/Mt. Wayte and again Franklin/Mt. Wayte crossing double yellow to get around cars,” explained Sgt. Mickens.
Framingham police terminated the pursuit, due to safety reason, said Sgt. Mickens.
A few minutes later dispatch received a call for a motor vehicle crash on Day Hill, involving a vehicle that fit the description of the one Lopes was driving.

“Officers found Lopes and a passenger that was in the car walking away from scene. They were stopped and were uncooperative. Lopes subsequently arrested,” said Sgt. Mickens.
The teen was charged with 3 counts of failure to stop for red light, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, operating a motor vehicle with no license, failure to stop for a police officer, and two marked lanes violations.
No one was injured, said Sgt. Mickens.
