1 Today is Ash Wednesday, the start of the Lenten season for Christians.

2. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has no public events. She may or may not attend the Framingham School Committee meeting at 7 p.m.

3. The School Committee is meeting tonight at 7 to interview the 4 candidates for School Committee is District 2. The City Council and the School Committee will hold a joint meeting on March 2 to vote on one individual to replace the late Karen Foran Dempsey, who died suddenly on December 24, 2020.

4. CITY OF FRAMINGHAM MEETINGS (all are Zoom or remote unless otherwise stated):

  • Edgell Grove Trustees at 10 a.m.
  • Framingham Board of Assessors at 5:15 p.m.
  • Framingham City Council Stamps Ad Hoc Subcommittee at 6 p.m.
  • Framingham Conservation Commission at 7 p.m.
  • Framingham EDIC at 7 p.m.
  • Framingham School Committee at 7 p.m.

5. Today is National PTA Founders Day.

BONUS: COVID testing & vaccine information for Framingham

The Commonwealth’s free COVID testing site at Framingham State University’s parking lot, which is by appointment only, expanded to 3 lanes thanks to Senate President Karen Spilka.

The City of Framingham has yet to open a free walk-up COVID testing site in 2021, although SOURCE has learned they are considering one of the City’s polling places as a potential site.
