FRAMINGHAM – MetroWest Medical Center announced a new Chief Executive Officer today, December 7.

Ava Collins is the new Chief Executive Officer of the hospital. In this role, she will be responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational and clinical activities at MetroWest Medical Center, which is comprised of both the Natick and Framingham campuses.

“I am excited to announce Ava Collins as the new Chief Executive Officer of MetroWest Medical Center,” said Tenet Massachusetts Chief Executive Officer, Carolyn Jackson. “With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, Ava is well-positioned to not only continue MetroWest Medical Center’s tradition of offering high quality care to the community, but to also bring the hospital’s accomplishments to new heights.”

Andrew Harding had been CEO at MetroWest Medical Center. He was named interim in summer 2018, and named permanent in fall 2018.

She will be leaving her role as Chief Operating Officer of Saint Vincent Hospital to take on this new endeavor.

During her time at Saint Vincent Hospital, she led key strategic initiatives, expanded primary service line programs and implemented high impact capital projects. In addition, she led COVID-19 operations for the hospital including a comprehensive recovery and resurgence plan. Collins also served as Group Chief Operating Officer for the Massachusetts and South Carolina Markets for Tenet Health.

Prior to joining Saint Vincent Hospital, she served in various executive leadership roles with Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana including Chief Operating Officer – Ochsner Baptist, Vice President of Operations – Ochsner Medical Center and Assistant Vice President of System Strategy Operations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University and Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Tulane University.
