Updated on Monday, November 2 to confirm closure.

FRAMINGHAM – Reports have Bed Bath & Beyond unable to renew its lease on Route 9 in Framingham.

Employees are reporting the store will close at the end of 2020.

No one from corporate Bed Bath & Beyond has returned the news outlet’s email on the reported closure. SOURCE sent an email at 12:15 p.m. today, October 31.

The retailer has been struggling, and announced store closures earlier this year.

Bed Bath & Beyond announced 60 locations would close in September 2020, but none of the locations were in Massachusetts.

The New Jersey retailer, earlier this year announced it planned to close more than 200 locations over the next two years.

Today, it announced a list of 63 stores that will close. There were no Massachusetts stores on the list.

Forty store closures were announced in January, none from Massachusetts were on that list.

Bed Bath CEO Mark Tritton, earlier this year, said closing 200 locations would save the company between $250 and $350 million annually after one-time costs.

In July, the company announced it would close 1 out of every 5 locations or about 200 stores through 2022.
