HOLLISTON – Maynard C. Burkhardt, a longtime Holliston resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 20, 2020. His dry wit and wisdom will be missed.

Maynard was the beloved husband of the late Marlene L. (Wenzel) Burkhardt.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Melvin H. and Gladys P. (Poole) Burkhardt. Maynard was predeceased by his brother, Karl A. Burkhardt.

Maynard was raised in East Cleveland, Ohio and was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and NAWCC.

He had a long and successful career at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Maynard was a world traveler, voracious reader, a lover of arts and music, and enjoyed an occasional Beefeater Martini with family and friends.

Maynard is survived by his children, Christopher L. Burkhardt and his wife, Sharon of Holliston, and Jon S. Burkhardt and his wife, Sandra of Ashland. He was the loving grandfather of Allison and Corey.

At the request of the family, services are private and are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
