ASHLAND – My heart goes out to parents of school age kids and teachers.

I am a retired teacher and from what I see posted on Facebook, a lot of folks don’t get it.

My friends who are still working have spent so much of their “vacation” going into their classrooms to empty out all extra materials, attending constant Zoom meetings, analyzing the latest guidelines to see how everyone who returns to classrooms may be effected, etc.

Parents have to make decisions about sending their kids back into the least bad conditions.

My heart goes out to them because they are part of a very large and risky experiment and they know it.

To me, taking chances on kids and teachers lives is not right.

If we lose even one kid or teacher, is what we have gained worth it?
