BOSTON – This Sunday, May 17, 2020, Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, OFM Cap, will celebrate Mass for the Sixth Sunday of Easter at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The Cardinal will offer the Mass for all those involved with health care in this moment of crisis.

The Mass will air this Sunday at 8 a.m. on CW56 as well as at 7 and 11:30 p.m. on CatholicTV.

In acknowledging the challenging days we are all living through, the Cardinal reminds us of the heroic efforts of our doctors, nurses and healthcare workers in our hospitals, nursing homes and medical offices. Cardinal Seán said, “Our country and our local communities are blessed by the selfless service of our health care workers. These courageous first responders are on the front lines keeping people safe, helping to heal the sick and bring comfort to patients and families. “

He will be joined by Msgr Kevin O’Leary, Rector of the Cathedral and Dr. John Barravecchio who will proclaim the scripture readings. Dr. Barravecchio is an internist in Quincy, Massachusetts and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. He has been in practice for more than 20 years and is a member of the Guild of St. Luke.

The Guild of Saint Luke of the Archdiocese of Boston is an organization of Catholic physicians of the Archdiocese who meet several times each year to discuss issues of moral and ethical significance in healthcare.
