FRAMINGHAM – One of Framingham’s largest employers plans to move its headquarters to Needham.

IDG/IDC property leases its Framingham offices, and that lease will expire in early-mid 2021, said a company spoesperson.

“We have been working to find a more modern headquarters that allows all Boston-area IDG, IDC and IDG Communications employees to come together under one roof,” said Lynn Holmlund, with IDG.

“We anticipate starting to move employees in January 2021,’ said Holmlund.

She said despite the coronavirus, the plan to move to Needham is still on schedule.

IDG is one of the top 50 employers in the state and one of the top 10 in the City of Framingham.

IDG looked at both Boston & Cambridge, but eventually decided on Needham’s Innovation District.

IDG will have about 125,000 square feet space on Kendrick Street. The property is owned by Boston Properties.
