FRAMINGHAM – Effective Monday, May 4, the MetroWest Transit Authority (MWRTA) will require that all passengers of both the Fixed Route and Demand Response services wear a face covering over their mouth and nose while on the bus.

This action is in concert with several member municipalities of the MWRTA who are mandating face coverings for individuals when out in public.

Framingham mandated face covering in public last month, and the Town of Ashland’s new face covering requirement starts today, May 1.

The MWRTA’s concern is not only for the drivers, but also for all customers as we move through these turbulent times. Passengers who do not wear a face covering over their mouth and nose will not be permitted on an MWRTA vehicle.
