FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters extinguished a fire at a market in downtown Framingham in about 10 minutes, said Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.

The fire was reported at 11 a.m for 195 Hollis Street, said the chief.

The fire started in a cooking area of the Emanuel Supermarket, and extended to the exterior wall, said the chief.

“The crews were quickly on the scene and put out the fire in 10 minutes,” said Chief Dutcher.

There were no injuries.

Engine 3, Engine 5, Ladder 3, Rescue 1 and command 2 responded to the fire.

There were no injuries.

Chief Dutcher estimated about $10,000 worth of damage.

The market can not re-open until the building and health departments approve.
