Sgt. Porter joined the Framingham Police Department in 2014 as a dispatcher.
In 2017 he was sworn in as a Police Officer and has worked each of the departments three patrol shifts. He currently serves as member of the bicycle unit, a CPR/First Aid instructor, Field Training Officer, and a background investigator.
Sgt. Porter authored a grant that secured funding for technology to support search and rescue operations, and now serves as a pilot for the drone unit. He successfully advocated for the department to authorize the load bearing vest for patrol.
In addition, he has served as President of the Patrol Officers Union since 2019.
In his time off, he enjoys golfing, flying small planes as an FAA commercial pilot, and spending time with his wife and their dog, Winnie.
