FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State women’s basketball team defeated MCLA by a score of 69-43 in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon in North Adams.  

Framingham State improves to 11-3 and 3-1 in the Conference.

MCLA is winless in the Conference and 3-12 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Trailblazers kept it within striking distance for much of the first quarter, but the Rams would score the last four points to take a 17-10 lead into the break. 
  • Framingham State would ride that momentum into the second quarter going on a 13-2 run that blew the game open and lead to the Rams enjoying a 34-16 halftime advantage.  
  • Framingham State’s Katty Haidul would lead all scorers with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. Katherine Haselton would add 14 points while Flannery O’Connor and Jenna Tavanese each chipped in 9 points. 
  • MCLA first year Hailey Peabody scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to register her first career double-double. Kristie Zator finished with 12 points. Senior Maddie Teta added 7 points and 7 rebounds.  

UP NEXT: Salem State will be the next opponent for both teams as the Vikings will host MCLA on Wednesday and travel to Framingham next Saturday,
