FRAMINGHAM – The Worcester State men’s ice hockey team scored three second period goals on their way to a 3-0 win over Framingham State Saturday evening at Loring Arena.  

The Rams of Framingham State fall to 3-10-1 overall and 2-7-1in the MACAC

Worcester State improves to 8-7-0 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • After a scoreless first period the Lancers broke through early in the second when Brendan Ronan found the back of the cage on an odd-man rush.  
  • A few minutes later the visitors tallied again when Martin Dlugolinsky sent one home off a Nick Pennucci. Just over two minutes later WSU went up three goals after Brigham Neuhold squeaked one through Blake Carlson’s pads to extend the Lancer lead.  
  • There would be no goals in the third period.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Wyatt Friedlander made 26 stops in the shutout win for the Lancers.  
  • Blake Carlson turned away 51 attempts for the Rams.  
  • Neither team could convert on the powerplay, the Rams were 0-for-3 while the Lancers were 0-for-4 on the man advantage. Worcester did score shorthanded early in the second.  

UP NEXT: The Rams return to the ice on Tuesday when they head to St. Anslem for non-league play. The Lancers will host Plymouth State in MASCAC play at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
