FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High School Hall of Fame Foundation today, October 4, announced the inductees for the 4th Annual Framingham Athletic Hall of Fame.

This year’s class includes a legendary coach who is in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, an All-American Framingham High girls lacrosse player who scored 200 goals, a famous Framingham North quarterback, a 100-goal scoring girls ice hockey captain, a Framingham South basketball coaching legend, and a Framingham High girls hockey players who scored more than 300 points in her career.

Proceeds from the Flyers Hall of Fame ceremony benefit the Framingham High athletics department.

To be inducted in 2022:

  • Former Framingham High wrestling coach Dan Balboni
  • Framingham North graduate Steve Burton
  • Framingham High graduate Katie Cox Thomas
  • Framingham High graduate Shaunna Kaplan Gay
  • Framingham High graduate Allison Manzella
  • Former Framingham South basketball coach Phil Moresi

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, November 4 at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Framingham.

Tickets, for what is expected to be a sold out event, are on sale now.

Proceeds from the Framingham High Hall of Fame athletic ceremony, and subsequent induction ceremonies, benefit the Framingham High athletics department.

The championship sponsor is MutualOne Bank.

Framingham Public Schools eliminated athletic fees for all Framingham High athletes in 2018. The Flyers Hall of Fame Foundation, a 50c13 organization, was founded to raise money for Framingham High School.

In the inaugural Framingham Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018, inducted was Blake Andre Bellefeuille, Tanner Guarino, Kristin Igoe, Peter Anthony Taglianetti, and the late George Wheeler.

In 2019, inducted was Dr. Melanie Baskind, Richard Carter, Abbey Capobianco, Arnold Garron, Lou Merloni, and Brad Newman

No one inducted in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2021, inducted was the entire state champion girls lacrosse team from 2006, Bill Brooks, PJ Rovinelli, the late Todd Hill, and the late Giovanni Lopez.

The Flyers Hall of Fame Foundation Board requested nominations for the Hall of Fame earlier this year, and selected the 4th class of inductees in September from nominations submitted between 2018-2022.
