Sister Gail Anne Ripley, CSJ, (Sister Ellen Marie) in the 71st year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Sunday, June 8, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Corcoran) Ripley, and loving sister of the late Mary Castonia and Charles Ripley. Sister Gail is survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Gail Wallace, Jack, Paul and Maribeth Castonia and their families, along with her devoted friends, Alice Kirby, CSJ and Bernadette Kenney, CSJ, and all her Sisters in the Congregation. Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Lazarus School, East Boston; St. Thomas School, Jamaica Plain; Boston School for the Deaf, Randolph for over 20 years; Holy Family, Rockland; and Principal at Sacred Heart School, Roslindale.
Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, Friday, June 13, 2025, 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter Street, Norwood, MA.
