FRAMINGHAM – King Elementary School will have its fifth principal in six years.
Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay announced today, May 7, he has appointed Allison Benabdallah as the permanent Principal of King Elementary School.
Benabdallah, who was the school’s vice principal, has served as principal since January.

The school’s 2019-2020 principal Dr. Marguerite Lackard took a leave of absence in the fall of 2019, and it was announced in January she would remain on leave through the end of the school year.
“Benabdallah has shown tremendous leadership and has exhibited a steadfast capacity to manage and navigate the diverse needs of the current and potential incoming families, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Tremblay in announcing the promotion today.
“She has demonstrated both the instructional and managerial skills that are needed to lead a building and I am fully confident in her ability to provide the much-needed stability and commitment to the King community,” said Tremblay of his new Principal.

Benebdallah came to King after serving as vice principal at Stapleton Elementary School. Prior to that she was a theatre arts teacher at Fuller Middle School in the district.
Benebdallah is the fifth principal at the George P. King Elementary School, since it re-opened.
Principal Lucia Laguarda split her time between Hemenway Elementary and King Elementary when the K-5 school first opened.

Former Dunning Elementary principal Kim Taylor took over after her and stayed in the position from 2015-2018, until she left to become the head of the Dedham Public Schools preschool program.
Former Wilson Elementary Vice Principal John Maynard wa sthen hired to lead the school from 2018-2019, and left after one year.
Then Lackard was given the principal post for the 2019-2020 school year.
This class of 2019-2020 is the first class to graduate from re-opened elementary school on Water Street
