FRAMINGHAM – On Sunday, April 17, The WooSox hosted Framingham Day, its first of 18 “Town Takeover” games this season.
At every Town Takeover game, the WooSox baseball team salutes the residents, leaders, businesses, and history of that day’s community.
Five dollars of every ticket purchased from the WooSox’ new “Town Takeovers” link went straight to Daniel’s Table, a nonprofit that provides food security and assistance for their neighbors in Framingham. The co-founder of Daniel’s Table, David Blais, was honored as our “Hometown Hero,” presented by Mass Lottery. He also threw a Ceremonial First Pitch!
Through ticket sales – $225 was raised for Daniel’s Table, said the WooSox.

The Mayor of Framingham Charlie Sisitsky also threw a Ceremonial First Pitch, said the WooSox.
Keziah Franca, who serves the City of Framingham as a Citizen Participation Officer, performed the National Anthem.
At the end of the fourth inning during every home WooSox game, the baseball team honors a veteran through its “In Debt to a Vet” program.
Sunday, we honored Framingham State University student, Alexander Morais. He served our country for five years at the White House Military Office in Washington, D.C. The former Marine sergeant, and native of West Boylston, was awarded the Presidential Service Badge. He is currently a junior at Framingham State.

After the game, HP Hood presented “Kids Run the Bases,” and w an Easter egg hunt in the outfield in celebration of Easter Sunday. Kids won candy, WooSox stickers, and Triston Casas bobbleheads!
