NATICK – Barbara S. Subber, 75, of Natick, died January 4, 2022, peacefully at home with her family near. 

She was the loving wife of Richard C. Subber to whom she had been married for 53 years.

Born in Hartford, CT, she lived most of her life in Bethlehem, PA. She was the daughter of the late Donald U. and Martha (Richardson) Smith.

Barb worked as a reference librarian for the Bethlehem Area Public Library for 33 years.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Bethlehem, for more than 50 years, serving on the Vestry as well as many committees and in the choir.

After moving to Natick 7 years ago, she joined St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the choir and chair of the Welcome Committee, and led the Centering Prayer group. She loved spending time with family and friends, reading, knitting, and playing the piano.

In addition to her loving husband, Rick, she is survived by her son, Adam Subber of Sherborn, his wife, Chelle, and 4 grandchildren: Winnie, Wyatt, Atticus, and Phoebe; a brother, Donald U. (Hether) Smith of Philadelphia; and a sister, Mary (George) Hubbard of Savannah, GA; as well as nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.
