FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Housing Authority has been able to secure enough vaccines to start vaccinating our elderly residents residing in state and federal elderly housing, said Executive Director Paul Landers.
“We will be holding vaccination clinics this week for approximately half of our elderly population,” said Landers.
“We’d like to thank the MetroWest Pharmacy for their partnership on securing the vaccinations and assisting the FHA in the planning & administration of the vaccines,” said Landers.
Clinics were held this week, including today, February 26.
Some residents who could not physically travel to the common areas at the Framingham Housing Authority, staff from the MetroWest Pharmacy visited them in their unit and administered the vaccine there.
About 150 individuals received their vaccines yesterday, and dozens more were receiving them this morning at John J. Brady Drive.
The Authority is doing the clinics in phases. Yesterday was Arsenal Road area and next week Rose Kennedy Lane.
Additional clinics will take place over the next few weeks to allow our elderly residents to receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine, explained Framingham Housing Authority Commissioner Janet Leombruno.
