1 Students in Phase III of the Framingham Public Schools, many who have not physically been in the classroom since March 2020, return to their schools. About 50% of the parents chose to have their students return to a 5-day a week schedule for in-person learning, while about 50% chose to keep their students with remote learning at home, according to a survey by the district.
The high school started at 7;20 this morning as part of the Phase III schedule.
Athletics also begins today, for some teams. Other teams will not start until March
Phase IV, the final phase of students, are set to begin a hybrid schedule in March.

2. A new walk-up, free COVID-19 testing site, announced on Monday, opens today at St. T’s Parish Hall. Appointments are required.
It is the site SOURCE wrote was being considered back on January 21. The City of Framingham has not had a walk-up testing site since December 2020, when the SMOC HQ one closed on Bishop Street.
The Commonwealth’s free COVID testing site at Framingham State University’s parking lot, which is by appointment only, expanded to 3 lanes earlier this month thanks to Senate President Karen Spilka.

2. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer no public events today, although Mayor is expected to attend the Framingham School Committee meeting on Zoom tonight at 7.
Yesterday, the Mayor held a community hour on the city’s challenges.
Not on the her public schedule yesterday, the Mayor spoke at a press conference today to support driver’s licenses for undocumented workers.
Also not on the Mayor’s schedule yesterday was her appearance at the City Council meeting. She appeared only for one agenda item to discuss ADA compliance issues in the City. When the City Council chair asked is she would stay and take questions on other issues in the City, the Mayor left the Zoom meeting.
