HOLLISTON – Maria Delourdes Salomao- Schmidt, 53, of Holliston, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was the daughter of Maria Raquel (Cerveira) and Claudinor Salomao.

She was the wife of 17 years to Douglas Schmidt of Holliston.

Maria had a very eclectic life. She lived many lives within this one, including entrepreneur, Reiki healer, life coach, real estate broker, author, world traveler, wife and mom.

She started,  “I’m Holliston Happy,” a Facebook page for her local community, and volunteered to help many of those in need everywhere.

Maria loved all animals and had four rescue dogs.

She reached her lifelong goal of being on the Oprah show, when she and her family were featured on Oprah’s last episode. Her gift was her unique humor, intuition and ability to help ignite her clients’ life purpose.

Maria treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. One of her very favorite things in the whole world was to dance around the kitchen with Doug and their children.

Besides her husband, Maria leaves behind four children, Mialotta, Olivia, Isabella and Christopher. She also leaves behind her siblings, Joao, Pedro, Claud, Julia, Jeffrey and Mark, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Sophia.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23rd from noon to 5 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington Street.. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com 

There will be a virtual service on January 30 at 11 a.m.
