5.69% of Framingham Voted Early in The Presidential Primary

FRAMINGHAM – The presidential primary was Tuesday. Overall, about 41% of Framingham’s 39,594 registered voters participated, according to the unofficial results from the City Clerk’s office.

This year marked the first time the Commonwealth of Massachusetts allowed early voting for the presidential primary.

Framingham had two polling places for 5 days between February 24-28 for early voting.

In total 2,252 individuals voted early or 5.69 percent of the City’s registered voters, according to the City Clerk’s office.

At Nevins Hall in downtown Framingham, 921 individuals cast a ballot early.

At the Christa McAuliffe library on water street, 1,331 individuals cast a ballot early.

Twice before, Framingham has allowed early voting.

In 2016 and 2018, prior to the state elections in November. There were a dozen days of early voting in 2016 and 11 days in 2018.

In 2016, more than 10,000 Framingham voters took part in early voting.

In 2018, only about 4,800 registered voters in Framingham participated in early voting.
