FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer spoke to about 10 residents at The Branches in Framingham last Friday afternoon, and reminded them it is important not to have a traditional Thanksgiving with extended family & friends in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Thanksgiving has been a time when you got together with family,” said Mayor Spicer.
“Knowing what I know about COVID, and what I have learned about this virus, it is my recommendation, and the state’s recommendation, the CDC recommendation, which is Centers for Disease Control, that people not do your traditional big gatherings for Thanksgiving. That you have a small gathering, with no more than 10 people, or the people you actually live with or are engaged with. And once again, you are socially distant and you are wearing a face covering.”
The Mayor said she plans to do Thanksgiving at home in Framingham, and with do a virtual gathering during dessert with family & friends
