FRAMINGHAM – Labor Day in the Framingham Public Schools is more than a day-off; it is recognition of the labor movement and the values of collaboration between stakeholders in support of our shared educational mission.

It is only fitting that after more than a month of negotiations, that today, on Labor Day we are pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement on a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the upcoming school year.

The MOA covers the topics of:

  • Health and Safety
  • Air Quality and HVAC Systems
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Physical Distancing, and Personal Hygiene
  • Cleaning Protocols
  • Restructuring Practices to Reduce Risk
  • Work Year Schedule and School Calendar
  • Remote Phase, including Teleworking Agreements, and Teaching and Learning Expectations
  • Hybrid Phase, including Teaching and Learning Expectations
  • Leaves; and
  • Evaluations

FTA members will be receiving information through personal emails about informational virtual meetings and ratification.

The District and individual schools will continue to communicate with families in advance of the first day of remote school on Wednesday September 16th.

Thank you to the members of the bargaining teams for your hard work, and thank you to the greater community for your patience while we worked through these important details.
