FRAMINGHAM – On March 16, the Framingham Health Board unanimously voted to prohibit in-person City of Framingham boards, committee, and commission meetings. The last in-person meeting at the Memorial Building was Tuesday, March 17 when several members of the elected Framingham City Council met.
Many meetings have been happening via video conference calls using the WebEx and Zoom platforms.
That order is still in effect as of July 15, even though City Hall and most municipal officers have re-opened.
Only the 11-member City Council, the legislative branch of the city government, and its subcommittees can meet live at the Memorial Building or hold in-person meetings, at this time, according to the City’s Health Director Sam Wong.
The City Council is considering holding its first in-person meeting at the Memorial Building since March on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m The official agenda has not been posted yet for next week’s meeting. There is a subcommittee meeting to discuss in-person meetings scheduled for tonight at 6 via Zoom.
