FRAMINGHAM – Today, July 15, the City of Framingham announced twiresidents have tested positive for COVID-19, since Monday.

There have been a total of 1,754 coronavirus cases in the City of Framingham in 2020.

The good news is 1,558 individuals have recovered.

The City is reporting one less fatality than on Monday, when it reported 118.

City now reporting 117 individuals have died from the COVID-19 or complications from the virus, since the pandemic began.

City spokesperson Kelly McFalls said “The Health Department is reviewing every death using new CDC guidance for nursing homes.  The Total Fatality number will be revised further once they have completed their reviews.”

In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 73 residents in quarantine.

There are more than 70,000 residents in the City of Framingham.

So roughly, 2.5% of the city tested positive for the virus.

The City announced last month instead of daily updates on the coronavirus, it will now only provide updates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
