BOSTON – Framingham High junior Sophie Albright won the Massachusetts high jump title.
This is her rookie season competing in the indoor high jump. She has competed at the outdoor level in high school.
She won with a leap of 5-feet 8 inches.
Her leap of 5-feet 8 inches is the best in the state this season.
She was the lone competitor at the all-state meet for the Flyers.
Framingham finished tied for 17th place with 10 points.
More than 60 teams competed at the meet at the Regie Lewis Track Center yesterday, February 22.
Dartmouth’s Heather Francis holds the state record for indoor high jump at 5-feet, 11-inches.
Albright owns the Framingham High School record.
She is tied for the 7th best leap in the nation, at the moment, with that 5-foot, 8-inch leap.
Morgan Smalls, a senior from North Carolina has the best leap in the nation at 6-feet.
