FRAMINGHAM – Today, June 14, is flag day.

Members of the Elks, held a flag retirement ceremony today, as the city cancelled the annual parade, due to the coronavirus.

The Pledge of Allegiance was held and then Elks members helped to burn the more than 6,000 old flags from the cemeteries in Framingham with members of the Framingham Veterans Committee.

Members of the Veterans Committee, several Elks members, Framingham Firefighters, and a few volunteers placed more than 6,400 flags on Veterans graves for Memorial Day weekend last month.

SOURCE will have video and more photos on Monday
