Anthony “Hank” Ferracamo, 100, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Tuesday May 30, 2023 after a period of declining health. Hank was born on September 18, 1922 to the late Ciriaco and Michelina (Lucchese) Ferracamo. He was the beloved husband of Balmira “Pal” (Antonio) Ferracamo of Framingham. This upcoming September they would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary.
Hank attended Framingham Public Schools and grew up in what he referred to as, “the precinct of hard knocks” and deeply cherished his Tripoli/Coburnville neighborhood. He was a great athlete in his youth, playing in the 1940 high school basketball championship. He served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the Army during WWII.
Hank worked as an X-Ray Specialist for 37 years at Fenwal in Ashland, MA. He greatly enjoyed playing golf, bowling and bocce. And, when not spending time with his family, or playing sports, he could be found at the Columbus Hall, where he was the oldest active member.
In addition to his loving wife, Pal, he also leaves behind his sister-in-law Julie Antonio of Milford, MA, his brother-in-law Arthur Antonio of Whitinsville, MA, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Hank was pre-deceased by his brother Louis “Mickey” Ferracamo and sister Theresa “Trixie” Surro.
Family and friends will honor and remember Hank’s life by gathering for a time of visitation at the McCarthy, McKinney Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Tuesday, June 13th from 9-10:30AM. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at the St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St., Framingham. Interment will take place at the St. Tarcisius Cemetery, 180 Winthrop St., Framingham.
