Sheila Mary (Delaney) Flynn, 84, a longtime resident of Framingham and most recently Upton, died Friday, June 2, 2023 after a period of declining health. Born in Norwood, she was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel & Catherine (Shea) Delaney.

Raised and educated in Walpole along with her 7 siblings, Sheila was a graduate of Walpole High School, and went on to graduate from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1959 of which she was the class president. She was a staple at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham where she worked for 37 years. Sheila married her high school sweetheart, Robert F. Flynn, and together they raised their 4 children in Framingham.

Kind, loving, gentle, strong, positive, optimistic, and caring, are just a few are just a few adjectives that adequately describe Sheila. She enjoyed reading a good book on her porch, all the arts, watching Jeopardy, talking politics, visiting new places, and celebrating birthdays and holidays. Sheila was the hostess with the mostess. She was a devout catholic and active member of St. Bridget Parish.

Sheila will be deeply missed her many dear relatives and friends, particularly, her daughters, Ruth Flynn of Upton, Alison Kerins & her husband Thomas of Upton, her grandchildren, Samantha and Kasey Flynn, and Charles and Julia Kerins, her great grandchildren, Madellene, Juliet, Melanie and Daniel Cordova Flynn, her sisters, Ann Howard, Catherine LeBrun, her brothers, Jeremiah, Daniel and John Delaney, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Robert, Sheila was predeceased by her sons, Gregory and Daniel, and her sisters, Patricia and Elizabeth.

Family and friend will honor and remember Sheila’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Tuesday, June 13th from 5-8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.
