Jozef “Joey” Pawluczonek, 78, of West Bridgewater and formerly of Framingham, passed away Saturday morning, June 21, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Scotland, he was the beloved son of the late Jozef & Isabella (Ritchie) Pawluczonek.
Jozef immigrated to the US with his father in 1951, settling in Brockton, where he attended Brockton Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and honorably served his country during Vietnam, earning several medals including the Purple Heart. Upon his return, he was employed for over 30 years as a baker for Continental Baking Company.
Joey loved all animals, but was happiest spending time with the next generation of kids in his extended family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his siblings, Sandra Walker of Scotland, Helena Zurinskas of West Bridgewater, Anthony & his wife Nancy of Charlton, Christine White of West Brookfield, and Frank & his wife Roberta of Milford, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jozef’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham on Wednesday morning, July 2nd beginning at 10 AM. His graveside services will be held in Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St. Framingham at 11 o’clock.
