Jenna Yazdani’s Storage Shed Project Aims to Support Hundreds of Families with Disabilities

Sudbury, MA – June 23, 2025 — Eagle Scout candidate Jenna Yazdani is on a mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of families raising children and adults with disabilities. As part of her path to achieving the highest rank in Scouting, Jenna has partnered with local nonprofit SMILE Mass to build a much-needed storage shed for their adaptive equipment loaner program—one of the largest of its kind in New England.

The project will house critical adaptive items like floating beach wheelchairs, racing chairs, and adaptive bikes—specialized tools that enable people with disabilities to experience the joy of outdoor recreation and mobility with dignity and ease.

“When I first learned about SMILE Mass, I knew this was the right project,” said Jenna Yazdani. “Their mission to support families like mine and yours resonated deeply with me. This shed may seem small, but its impact will be enormous—allowing more families to access the equipment they need, when they need it most.”

Jenna is more than halfway to her fundraising goal of $2,500, having already raised $1,394 through generous community support. But she still needs help to reach the finish line. Donations will go directly toward purchasing building materials and supplies to construct the shed, ensuring SMILE Mass can continue to serve thousands of families each year.

Founded in 2009, SMILE Mass (Small Miracles in Life Exist) has served over 30,000 families through innovative programs designed to promote recreation, education, and vacation opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Their Adaptive Equipment Loaner Program is entirely free to families and includes everything from beach wheelchairs to adaptive bikes and running chairs.

“Jenna’s leadership and commitment to inclusion embody everything SMILE Mass stands for,” said Lotte Diomede, Founder and President of SMILE Mass. “This storage shed will give our equipment a permanent, safe home—allowing us to serve even more families across New England. We’re honored to be part of her Eagle Scout journey.”

Jenna’s project is more than just a physical structure—it’s a symbol of empowerment, accessibility, and community-driven impact.

Jenna has strapped on the hard hat towards her Eagle Scout recognition.

By supporting her efforts, donors are helping SMILE Mass continue its mission of building a more inclusive world, one small miracle at a time.
