John E. Liberatore, 78, a longtime resident of Hopedale and formerly Framingham, died Saturday June 7, 2025 after a period of declining health. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Fred & Jane (Butler) Liberatore, and the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Quinn) Liberatore.

Raised and educated in Framingham, John served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked as a pipefitter and was a member of the Local #537. John was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

John loved to sing and make people laugh, and had an amazing sense of humor. He was an avid Boston sports fan, and spent many hours in his man cave alongside his brother in law, Tommy Quinn cheering on his beloved teams. He enjoyed trips to Eastham on Cape Cod with family, and spending time in the kitchen or at the grill with his children and grandchildren where he was known for making the best chicken stew.

Besides his wife Cheryl, John is survived by his children, Cheryl Ann Sullivan & her husband Timothy, Christina Liberatore & her wife Julie DiBona, and Ann-Marie Liberatore & her wife Brittany Fine, his grandchildren, Steven Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, Colin Sullivan, Phoebe DiBona-Liberatore, Cole DiBona-Liberatore, and Calvin DiBona-Liberatore, his siblings, Fred, Steven, Daniel, and Jane, and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Thomas.

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by celebrating his Funeral Mass in St. George Church, 74 School St. Framingham on Wednesday morning, June 11th at 10 o’clock. Interment and a Celebration of John’s life will take place at a later date.
