FRAMINGHAM – Mary Emily (née Bradley) Comisky, 93, of Framingham, died peacefully Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Geneva, New York to the late James and Mary Emily (Moriarty) Bradley.  Mary (Ellie) graduated from DeSales High School in 1949 where she served as Class Vice President, was a member of the cheerleader squad and known for her acting roles in school plays and her keen fashion sense.   It was there she met the love of her life and future husband.  William (Bill) Comisky.

In her youth she developed a passion for dance, performing with her dance troop at numerous events around Geneva and surrounding towns accompanied by Bill on piano.  She was most proud of performing ‘pointe tap’, a unique and difficult style of dance.

Ellie followed in her mother’s footsteps working at the Geneva Telephone Company.  She was also elected President of the St. Bonaventure Alumni Wives’ Club.   Of her many accomplishments, starting and raising her six children was at the top of the list.  Together with Bill, they raised their kids in New York City, Texas and Pennsylvania before settling in Framingham.

Ellie was an avid reader and especially enjoyed her favorite author, Danielle Steel.  Another favorite activity was doing word puzzles while indulging in a nice fudgsicle.  ‘Nana’ was always game for a family party and dressing up for the occasion; her Kentucky Derby party hats became legendary.

She cherished time with Bill and family at her lake house on Beaver Lake hosting family BBQ’s, parties and get-togethers. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren have fun at her lake house – swimming, fishing and boating on the lake. Ellie continued to host family events at her lake house on Beaver Lake after Bill’s passing.

Ellie was a communicant of St. Anselm Church, St. George’s Church in Framingham and All Saints Church in Ware, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Comisky was predeceased by her husband of 65 years William (Bill) T. Comisky; son Stephen Comisky and daughter Ann Marie McManus.  She is survived by sons Paul (Anne) of Bannockburn, IL; Daniel (Debi) of Upton; Robert (Lindsey) of Grafton; and John (Stephanie) of Milford; Chris McManus of Loveland, OH; twelve grandchildren Danielle (Eoin), Lauren (Jonathan), Casey (Victoria), Christopher (Stephanie), Timothy (Samantha), Lori Ann (Jhan), Meaghan, Sara, James, Jason, Danny (Caity) and Michael and nine great-grandchildren Liam, Rory, Avery, Ethan, Emmett, Evelyn, Julian, Sienna and Jackson.

Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St, (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham will be on Monday July 15, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2024,  St. George Church, 74 School Street Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery.
