Norma M. (Hashim) Gicka, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham died on Sunday July 7.  She was born in Derry, NH to Charles and Josephine Hashim on May 20, 1934.

After marrying and moving to Waltham, Norma began a career as a Hair Stylist at Beautyville on Moody Street in Waltham. She was there for over 20 years and decided to change careers.   She joined her friend at MIT Sloan School of Management in the fiscal office.  She remained there until she retired in 1991.

After her retirement Norma moved to Framingham to be closer to her daughter and her family.  She took over full time care of her brother Thomas after her mother passed and was, he primary caregiver until she died.

Norma showed her love for all with her cooking.  She was always in the kitchen and always cooking.   She is predeceased by her husband, Waclaw, who died in December 2023. She leaves behind her brother, Thomas Hashim, her daughter, Deb Miller and her husband Michael, her son, Ron Gicka and his wife Linda, her grandchildren Amy Savoy (Dave), Ryan Miller (Kim), Ron Gicka Jr., (Courtney), and Shawn Gicka (Amanda).  She was also the proud great grandmother to 9 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Norma’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Tuesday morning, July 16th from 10 – 11AM. Her Funeral service will immediately follow.  Interment will take place privately.
