Judith A. (Cantara) Briggs, 83, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024 after a period of declining health.  Born in Boston, she was raised by her foster parents, Salvatore & Mary (Lauro) Belcastro, and was the beloved wife of more than 65 years to Robert J. Briggs.

Judy was raised in Saxonville, and was a 1958 graduate of Framingham High School. She married Bob shortly after, and worked as an administrative assistant at Lumber insurance for 14 years, and ended her career with Dr. Jacobson. She and Bob raised their daughters here in Framingham.

Judy loved to volunteer and did so for many years at Framingham Union Hospital. Time spent well was spent with family. She loved Christmas, trips to Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Marco Island FL, a good day of shopping, and a nice dinner out.

Besides her husband Bobby, Judy is survived by her daughters, Theresa Dailey & her husband Leigh of Uxbridge, Cheryl Edmunds & her partner Paul Dickie of Marlborough, Elizabeth Martin & her partner Mark Allen of NH, Roberta Connors & her partner Brian Willis of Uxbridge, Marlene Fabri & her husband Dana of Whitinsville, and Kathleen Frasher & her husband Jeff of Orange, her grandchildren, Michael and John Dailey, Amanda and Zachary Leach, Stephen and Sara Martin, Courtney, Rob, Andrew and Kristen Connors, Hunter Fabri, Anthony and Christopher Ludwig, and Skylier Frasher, her great grandchildren, Genevieve, Andrew, Wyatt, Wesley, and Trace, her sisters, Angelina Costa and Josephine Lockwood both of FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Judy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Sunday February 18th from 1-4PM. Interment will take place privately.
