Gaetano Damiano, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Saturday evening, February 3, 2024 after a period of declining health. Born in Paternopoli, AV, Italy, he was the son of the late Michele & Colomba Damiano, and the beloved husband of Maria Carmela (Palmieri) Damiano.

Gaetano immigrated to the US with his lovely wife Carmela and her family and settled in Framingham in 1970. For many years, he worked at the Continental Baking Company/Wonder Bread in Natick until his retirement. Gaetano, or Guy as he was affectionately known, was a wonderful, generous, and kind man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always looking forward to their visits. During the spring, summer, and fall you could always find him taking care of his beautiful garden whose harvest he shared with family, friends, and neighbors throughout the summer. He took great pride in his home and his family.

Besides his dear wife Maria Carmela, Gaetano leaves his sister, Maria in Italy, his brothers-in-law, and Luigi Palmieri and his wife, Luisa, of Framingham. Loving uncle to Genoveffa and her husband, Nicola Grieci, of Framingham, Raffaella and her husband, Anthony Agostino, of Sherborn, Jeanne Palmieri of Millis, and Lou and his wife, Val Palmieri, of Framingham. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews both in the US and in Italy. He also leaves three great grand nephews

Gaetano was predeceased by his siblings, Rosina and Angelo and his brother- in-law, Antonio and his wife, Natalina.

Family and friends will honor and remember Gaetano’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home 11. Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, February 7th from 4-7 pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St. Framingham at 10 o’clock.  Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
