Waclaw Gicka, 96, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born in LeCreusot France to Jan and Marie Gicka on September 28, 1927.

After serving in the French Army he came to this country and fell in love.  Waclaw wanted to become a citizen so he enlisted in the US Army.   Just before entering the military, he met the love of his life, Norma.  He served 2 years and came home an American Citizen to marry Norma in 1955 and they truly were sweethearts for life.

Waclaw retired from E.T. Ryan Iron Works.  Later in life he worked at the Woodland Elementary School in Weston and loved the time he spent with all the children.  He loved to travel back to France with his Family and Vegas and Foxwood with his friends.

Family was extremely important to him and he was proud of each and every member of his family.  He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Norma (Hashim), his brother-in-law Tom Hashim, his daughter Deb Miller and her husband Michael, his son Ron Gicka and his wife Linda, his grandchildren Amy Savoy (Dave), Ryan Miller (Kim), Ron Gicka Jr. (Courtney), and Shawn Gicka (Amanda).  He also has 9 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Waclaw’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday morning, December 22nd from 10-11AM. His funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock. Interment will be private.
