John F. McGill, 83 a resident of Ashland passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late John B. McGill and Mabel A. (Austin) McGill of Hopkinton and beloved husband of the late Charlotte P. McGill.
John worked for years as a supervisor in shipping and receiving for USP &FO United States Property & Fiscal Office, Honeywell, Data General, Avery Dennison and retired from Weston Nurseries. He was a member of the National Guard, Co. A.S&S, 26th S&T Battalion of Framingham. He was also a member of the American Legion.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to country music, going fishing, watching football and car races, and traveling across the country with his wife, Charlotte to visit family and other fun destinations.
John is survived by his children John McGill of Orlando, FL, Michael McGill of Agawam and Shelley Leacu and her husband Steve of Ashland, his grandchildren Joseph Leacu of Westborough, Christine Pocas and her husband Ben of Marlborough, John Leacu and his wife Kate of Westborough, Joshua McGill of Marlborough, Cordelia McGill and Sophine McGill of Agawam, his great grandchildren Shoshana, Adam and Savannah Leacu and his brother James McGill of FL.
Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by celebrating his Funeral Mass on Monday December 4th at St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland St., Southborough at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
Instead of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project located in Jacksonville, FL or St. Jude Research Hospital Inc.
