Nancy (Fagan) Costello, 83, a lifelong resident of Framingham, MA died peacefully with family on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Professor Harold H. Fagan and Lillian (Conlon) Fagan.

She is survived by her daughters Eileen (Costello) Arnold and her husband Aaron of Haverhill, MA; Siobhan (Costello) Brooks and her husband Lenny of Framingham, MA; her beloved grandchildren Grace, Abigail, Ronan, and Ryan; and her brother Joseph Fagan and his wife Lorraine of Warminster, PA. She was predeceased by her husband Martin Costello, and siblings Virgina Harrington of Framingham, MA; Captain Harold Fagan Jr. of Springfield, IL; Mary Pickett of Newton, MA; and Eileen Chahrouri of Lawrenceville, GA. She had many nephews and nieces.

Nancy taught middle school in Framingham for 37 years. She was a proud alumna of Boston College and continued her graduate studies at Boston College, Framingham State University, and University College of Dublin, Ireland. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church in Framingham and taught religious education classes there for over a decade. She also taught adult civic education classes in Framingham for many years.

Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed music, learning languages, caring for plants, doting on her pets, and spending time with family at her summer home in Harwich, MA.

Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy’s life by gathering for visiting hours on Sunday, October 1st at McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home in Framingham, MA from 2:00-6:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on October 2nd at 10:00am at St. Stephen’s Church in Framingham, MA. Interment will follow.
