Framingham State Ends Regular Season With Loss to Westfield State Owls

Framingham State drops to 10–7 overall and 5–2 in the MASCAC

Westfield State remains undefeated in the Conference at 7-0 and improves to 12-5 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• The Owls opened the game with a 4-0 run including a pair of goals from Cassidy Connolly, but the Rams got on the board with an unassisted goal from Regan Fein and trailed 4-1 with just under nine to go. 

• The Owls pushed the lead to 7-1 with just under five to play, but the Rams were able to close the gap to 8-3 after goals from Rachel Erickson and Hannah Guerin in the closing minutes. 

• The Rams cut the deficit to 8-4 after a goal from Leah Green in the opening minute of the second.  

• The score remained 8-4 until the Owls used a 5-1 run in the final 6:29 of the second quarter to extend the lead to 13-5. The Rams final goal of the half came as time expired from Erickson. 

• The Owls tallied four goals in the third period to push the advantage to 17–5. The Rams opened the fourth with three straight closing the gap to 17-8 before Connolly pushed the lead back to 10 with just under seven to play.  The Rams added goals from Erickson and Fein down the stretch to reach the final margin. 

• Alexis Burleigh took the loss in net for the Rams and did not make a save, while Isabella DiMare made six saves in relief. 

• Kara Banagan earned the victory for the Owls and made 14 saves. 

• Erickson finished the game with four goals for the Rams, while Guerin finished with two and an assist. 

• Emma Crettella paced the Owls with six goals and two assists, while Cassidy Harvey finished the day with three goals and two assists.
