FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University baseball team received a pair of two-run home runs as the Rams defeated Salem State University 4-3 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action Tuesday afternoon at Bowditch Field.     

Framingham State is now 20-12 overall and 10-5 in the MASCAC

Salem State drops to 7-24 overall and 4-11in the Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Salem State grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a solo homerun to right from Brahiam Ortega. 
  • The Rams took their first lead of the day in the bottom of the third on two-run homer to deep center from Ryan Boyle. 
  • The Vikings retook the lead in the top of the sixth on an RBI ground out from Conor Dolan and RBI single to left from James Dolan. 
  • The Rams received a two-run homerun to left from Caleb Hendrix in the bottom of the sixth inning putting the Rams on top 4-3. 
  • Cameron Prescott earned the victory on the hill for the Rams going six innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts. 
  • Anthony Panza recorded his fifth save of the season tossing three innings of scoreless relief allowing just two hits with three strikeouts.  
  • Caleb Hendrix finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI and two run scored, while Steven Burbank also recorded a pair of hits. 

UP NEXT: The Rams are back in action on Friday when they host Westfield State at 3 p.m.
