Peter Alfred Powell, 73, Deacon at First Congregational Church of Natick

NATICK – Peter Alfred Powell, 73, of Natick, MA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, April 21, 2023, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.

He was the husband of Joan Elizabeth (Hermann) Powell.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Alfred Earle and Carolyn (Walter) Powell.

Powell had worked for his family’s business, C.H. Powell Company, for his entire career, retiring in 2016. 

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Natick, where he also served as Deacon. 

He was a Natick youth soccer coach for many years.  Mr. Powell was an avid Boston sports fan and music lover.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Bethany Kessler and her husband Philip of Dublin, PA, Sarah Bell and her husband Doug of Natick, MA, and Jessica Edwards and her husband Michael of Framingham, MA. He is also survived by his siblings Charles Powell of Folly Beach, SC, Andrew Powell of Topsham, ME, Stephen Powell of Kennebunkport, ME, and Ann Ellsworth of Ridgefield, CT.  He was also a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Meghan, Aidan, Molly, Casey, Noah, Isaiah, and Alijah.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 2 E. Central St., Natick.

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, 25 Glenwood St., Natick.
