DUBLIN, IRELAND – Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement after visiting the Republic of Ireland with President Joe Biden and Members of Congress:

“As a proud Irish American and representative for one of the largest Irish-American communities in the nation, I was honored to accompany President Biden to the Republic of Ireland. Born out of common values, the U.S.–Ireland friendship has long been cherished by the American people. During our visit, we discussed our commitment to further strengthening this vital partnership, fostering shared prosperity, and building a global economy that advances the needs of working people,” said Congresswoman Clark (D-Massachusetts).

“As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, America stands with the Irish people and all those seeking to uphold peace, security, and opportunity around the world. The United States and Ireland are united in our commitment to democracy, and I take pride in our two nations’ continued support for Ukraine’s defense of freedom and sovereignty,” said Congresswoman Clark, who represents Framingham. “I am grateful for the warm welcome offered by President Higgins, Taoiseach Varadkar, and all of our hosts in Ireland.”
