BOSTON – The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for most of Massachusetts, including MetroWest through 7 tonight.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. Any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish.

The warning was issued due to the relative humidity of 15 to 25 percent combined with wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour forecasted for Tuesday, April 11.

Temperatures today are expected to reach high 60s to low 70s.

“Very dry conditions and gusty winds will result in potentially critical fire weather conditions,” said the federal weather agency.
