NATICK – Barbara (Fitzgerald) Tierney, 88, of Newport, Rhode Island, formerly of Natick, and Naples, Florida passed away, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the St. Clare Home, Newport, Rhode Island.

She was the wife of the late Edward Tierney Jr.

Born in Newton, he was the daughter of the late George and Mary (McCormack) Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Tierney was a very active member of the Red Hatters in Naples, Florida for many years.

Barbara is survived by her two children, daughter Mary Beth Tello and her husband Guillermo of Portsmouth, Rhode Island and son, Edward Tierney III of Colebrook, New Hampshire, and by five beloved grandchildren: Nicolas Tello of Los Angeles, CA; Liam Tello of Quito, Ecuador, Eoin Tierney of Philadelphia, PA and Maggie and Campbell Tierney of Quincy, MA. She is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Martorana, of Natick, and Nancy Hobson of Pittsfield, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street in Natick Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 144 Central St., Natick, at 10 a.m.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 180 Pond Street in Natick.

Visiting hours will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home in Natick on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m.
